On Saturday the 1st of October Sabinas Regional squad took on Eclipse. It was a close first quarter and our Sabina girls started strong with a score of 11 - 12 to Eclipse. Despite falling back slightly in the second quarter to a score of 8 - 15 to Eclipse we were able to hold up a fighting spirit moving into the last quarter ending with a final score of 40 - 50 to Eclipse. Our regional girls gave Eclipse a tough match and our attack were able to quickly and effectively work out Eclipse's defensive game play and use it against them. Our defence stayed calm and collected, holding up a strong number of tips and inceptions throughout the game. Our regional girls played with confidence and positivity, keeping their heads up and their passes strong!
On Sunday the 9th of October our County team took on Raiders, it took us a while to warm up to the game and the first quarter ended in a score of 9 - 14 to Raiders. However our girls quickly picked up the pace and stole the second quarter with a score of 12 - 9 to Sabina. Our final quarter proved tough, after Alice took an unfortunate injury to the knee (who we pray has a speedy recovery) worry set in for our teammate and our girls lost some control of the game. We closed the game with a score of 5 - 14 and a total of 34 - 50 to Raiders. Our County team played with strength and courage despite some major setbacks throughout the game. Our girls were able to identify areas in need of improvement and make quick decisions to change their game play.
