Another Double Win for 1st and 2nds

First up were the 2nds against Fusion in an early but deceptively warm match. The match began well with solid connections from centre pass straight to goal with many turnovers meaning we got a head straight away. Fusion kicked into gear and fought back, getting several goals in a row, ending the first quarter 13-8 to us. At quarter time, we stepped up, became clinical in our approach and defensively worked hard to shut down Fusion's drop balls. We opened the gap, ending the second half on 26-15. We took our foot off the gas as Fusion came back with vengeance, as both teams scored equally in the third quarter. We did well to maintain our composure and worked smart in the heat to maintain a solid. The game concluded with a final score of 48-33 to us. POTM went to the fabulous Tiffy for her incredible movement and feeds into the shooters. Tiffy is recovering from being unwell lately and boy did she come back with a bang! Congratulations Tiffy!! 🎉
Next up was the 1st squad, who played against a very young and speedy Telstars side. A great start to the match with multiple turnovers being made by defence followed by quick, clinical transitions through court that resulted in goals. The first half of the match ended with a score of 29-8 to us. Despite some unforced errors, we maintained a solid lead and defence did brilliantly to bring the ball down to the attack. A special mention goes to the wonderful Sharifah who sadly injured her arm during the match – fingers crossed the damage isn’t as bad as initially thought and wishing you a speedy recovery! We had to reshuffle in order to fill in the gaps and maintain our strong lead. In the final quarter Rachel went down on her ankle, coming off for the remainder of the game. We continued on with strong mental stamina and played with only 6 for the final moments. Not much more can be said about this game other than we had a fabulous result with the game concluding with a fantastic score of 55-17 and POTM went to Chenelle who real flare in the circle with Nat! 🎉 Her movement and shooting were second to none! Thanks to several of the 2nds who played up having just played their own game
