Another Win for Thirds and Close Match for Regional Squad
Posted by Rachel Evans on 18 October 2021
Saturday saw our regional team and 3rd take to the court.
Our Thirds took on Beacons 6 in another close match! The first quarter was goal for goal ending 11-10 to us before we took a storm in the second quarter and pull away with 24-17 as our attack through court got stronger and stronger. Working hard at training to cement solid combinations has clearly been working! We continued to dominate the court and didn't give up resulting in making essential turn overs and concluding the game with a final score of 40-36. POTM went to the fabulous Louisa who played an absolute blinder of a game, making multiple intercepts and tips in the centre third. Congratulations Louisa 🎉
Our regional squad who fought hard against Academy. It was goal for goal throughout the game, each team making turn overs and converting them to goals. A true nail biting first half ending 21-23 and the end of the third quarter ending 35-35. The final quarter was all to play for! Our ladies played their socks off but unfortunately came away with a loss of 44-47. However, we are so proud of what they're achieving, they're definitely one's to watch and we brought out A game. These matches are a fantastic opportunity to learn lots and come back fighting harder next time. We secured 2 points for finishing within 5 goals so still an excellent performance! POTM was Chevelle for her fantastic movement within the circle and excellent shooting! Well done Chevelle! 🎉
Also sending out well wishes to the lovely Sophie who sadly suffered a 3rd degree ankle sprain. Wishing you a speedy recovery 💐 (we're not TRYING to make injury announcements part of the match report we promise!)
Well done ladies, another successful weekend!
