Double Win for Sabina in First Matches of NWKL Winter 2021/2022

The first weekend of the NWKL winter league did not disappoint.
We started the morning with our 2nds taking on New Edition. We made a solid start, turning over many of the opposites balls and working hard to utilise what we'd been practising during our previous training session to make some strong circle edge drives and movements within the circle. This match was also a great opportunity to work on forming new relationships since this team is new this season and we nailed it for a first match back!
The match concluded with a win of 48-23 and even better, because we stopped New Edition from achieving more than 50% of our score, we prevented them from gaining any points! Alice achieve her first POM for the winter league with her awesome movement in the circle and shooting! Well done Alice!
Next up we had our 1sts again Aquila. The game started off gently as we secured a steady lead whilst we settled into the reinstated 15 minute quarters. A few mistakes were made but we maintained a solid lead against the opposition, ending the first half with a score of 27-14 to us.
Throughout the game we played with patience which allowed accurately timed interceptions to create opportunities for the goal difference to widen. In the second half maintained consistent lead and the game ended with a fantastic 55-34 win and POM went to Sharifah for her awesome work in defence, turning over ball after ball after ball.
Congratulations Sabina Family, a great start to the Winter season, long may it continue!
