Last weekend was a heavy weekend of netball with our 1sts, 2nds and County Squads taking to the court.

First up on Saturday was the 1sts who played against OBA 1. We got off to a solid start as we worked to establish new combinations and units due to some 1st team players being unavailable. Ending the quarter on 11-7. As we picked up momentum, cleaning up errors and punishing OBA for theirs we stormed ahead in the second quarter scoring a staggering 15 goals to 1. Interceptions all over the place and smooth transitions through court resulted in a half time score of 26-8. The second half saw a change in energy however we maintained a strong lead and ended the game with a strong score of 50-33. POTM went to Natalie for her calm and controlled movement and shooting! Well done Nat 🎉 Another injury 😭 wonderful Hannah, we hope your ankle recovers quickly! 💖 And a massive thank you to Nicole on our 2nd squad for filling in last minute! 

Straight after the 1sts win was the 2nds game, where a few of our 2nds players played games back to back (How's that for #fitness?!). Our 2nds took on Nexus, getting off to a slow start as we adjusted to different combinations and some reservation for players who played the previous match resulted in the first quarter ending with a score of 15-12 to Nexus. Did you really think Sabina would let that happen though? Absolutely not, we dug deep and pulled out all the stops to turn over the ball, making interceptions throughout the court and transitioning to goal. Scoring a total of 20 goals in the second quarter alone meant we brought the score up to 32-30 to Sabina at the end of the first half. Finally in our groove, we continued to power ahead, scoring a further 20 and 14 goals to Nexus' 10 and 11 in the second half, we widened the gap to end the game with a winning score of 66-51. POTM went to Roxy for her sweet shooting skills 🎉 congratulations!! ⚠️Another injury - Renata wishing you and your ankle the speediest recovery! 💖

On Sunday, we travelled to Dartford to see our County squad take on top of the league team, Hornets. An unfortunate and sadly frustrating match as we began with some forced errors early on meaning we were on the back foot from the first half, ending it with a score of 26-13 to Hornets. Some tough lessons learnt but lots to take away to improve on such as ball placement, change of direction and quicker reactions when the ball has been turned over in our favour. That being said, we are so proud of this squad, their resilience to keep fighting and maintain a positive mindset despite the game not going as we'd have hoped was second to none. It really shows the mental toughness of Sabina to take a loss and come out having fought so hard yo keep going - win or lose, we stand together as our Sabina Family 🖤 ❤️  Sadly the match concluded with a final score of a loss against Hornets 51-27, the silver lining being that we came away with a point. POTM went to Alice for her wicked shooting and movement in the circle, keeping calm under pressure 🎉 well done Alice! 

Well done to all our Squads that played this week and well done to our shooters who got a full house of POTM!
