Sabina Take First Win in NWK Summer League 2021

Our first match of the summer league on Tuesday night began with a mix of nerves and excitement to be back on court. Its been a long 5 months. The rain held off for us to get 4 action packed quarters in. Both sides began with a steady start and an excitable energy that secured us a goal from the first centre pass of the game.
It's fair to admit both teams were a bit rusty, with a few wayward balls giving each team opportunities to take advantage of the other teams mistakes and score! With each team conceding goals on their own centre passes, the fell down to who could keep their cool and score on consecutive centre passes.
The match concluded with a 17-12 win against Aqua 1.
As a team, we did well to maintain stamina throughout the game considering the time we've had off and saw some great turnovers. Moving forward we want to dust off that rust and sharpen up our ball placement and driving onto the ball.
While we forgot to confirm who our player of the match was from Aqua; Head Coach Marlene has nominated Chenelle as our coach's POM. Mixing up positions, she played GD and C where she showed excellent communication and was supportive to the rest of the defense. As C she kept the team morale high and kept us all hungry for a win.
