Sabina Keeps Heads High Despite Unfortunate Loss

A hot summers evening, sun cream (and hand sanitiser) applied. We started the match with a hard effort and some great passes of play against Nexus. Unfortunately, losing the first quarter meant we had to work extra hard to try and regain some goals.
We showed a great can do attitude throughout the game and even at half time when we remained behind Nexus, we didn't let our heads drop and continued to fight hard. We were flexible; many players played out of position or more than one position which is true credit to the spirit of our team and club. We know we had a fight to give and never gave up trying. Despite losing, with a final score of 27-23 to Nexus, we pulled it back and won the final quarter 6-4.
Moving forward we want to improve our communication and continue to work hard on establishing new on-court relationships within different units.
We forgot to confirm our player of the match from Nexus 🙊 however, Head Coach Marlene has selected Chenelle 🎉 She showed the ultimate game of versatility, successfully keeping attackers off the circle edge and up court as WD and GD to create space for interceptions to be made. Followed by a complete wildcard, playing GA in the final quarter bringing different styles and combinations to her opponents to challenge them which ultimately left them bamboozled 🥴 and meant we scored more goals! Well done Chenelle!
