Sabina Secure Win in Falcon Cup Against KCNC

Saturdays match saw us compete in our first match of the Falcon Cup starting with a longgg drive to Aylesford to fight for a win against KCNC 1st team. This is the first match our regional and first team players have been able to play in (in 9 months!) and we welcomed our new member Hannah to the court.
We got off to a solid start, bagging ourselves goal after goal after goal but KCNC fought back hard to recuperate some lost centre passes and we ended at half time with a score of 22-10. Curse of the third quarter saw us struggle to break the defensive unit after KCNC brought on a cracking GD who started to shut down our attackers. We lost the quarter 5-6. However, we weren't going to let them get in our heads, we dug deep and came back with solid connections through court and some fantastic rebounds and turnovers in the defense to end the game with a win of 38-23.
As a team we did well making connections through the court, with swift, accurate passes and good ball placement meaning we could execute some awesome and sometimes sneaky feeds into the circle for our shooters. Nat and Cassain performed some lovely circle rotations. Our defenders also brought out the big guns, with Sharifah making many turnovers in the defensive third. Moving forward we want to improve consistency through our fitness during the game. The third quarter was a demonstration of how we need to maintain our fitness to win each quarter and secure more goals.
Player of the Match was Danii, who maintained excellent control of the game as C (not her usual position!) and used her speed and agility to work well with both defense and attack
