Two Nail Biting Matches!

Saturday started with a BANG! 💥 As both our regional and 3rd teams took to the court.
Our regional squad travelled to Kent to take on Poly in a highly contested match! We got off to a slower start than we'd have liked as we began to understand their game play, ending the first quarter on a score of 16-29 to Poly. Once we had established our usual tactics weren't working, we adapted to push up more in attack. Defensively, we smashed it as always, with our pressure making its mark on Poly's feed into their tall shooter. Throughout we showed true resilience and determination to keep digging deep, pushing through the tiredness. We'll be working on movement in the circle coming away from this match to ensure we have plenty of options at our dispense! We fought back hard and won the second half of the game, bringing the final score to an agonising 47-48 to Poly! Unlucky Ladies, we'll get them next time!Â
Next up was our 3rds who played a well-established New Edition 3 in the NWKL, where we were given a nail biting match! We started off goal for goal with us leading throughout the game thanks to some key movements in the circle. Defence did fantastically, making multiple interceptions throughout the game and we efficiently got the ball to our goal third. Although in the D a lot, the opposition were quick to claim some of our rebounds so we'd like to work on that moving forwards. Overall the game ended with a score of 29-28 to us. A well fought match against a team that had clearly played together for many years compared to our squad who are still establishing unit relationships. POTM went to Louisa for her domination and control of the game as Centre FOR THE SECOND WEEK IN A ROW!! Well done Louisa! 🎉
